Kelley Harris, 18, won 2019’s scholarship from Christian Marketing Experts LLC. She epitomized the spirit of what the company represents to its clients. She has a strong work ethic and is kind to people she meets. In high school, she completed more than 200 hours in service to others.
Her essay was well-written and discussed her struggles as a student in a college-level program. She explained how she didn’t give up and kept going to reach her goals. She also talked about how hard it is when her parents were constantly in debt and had no money. This led to anxiety and depression. She wanted to win scholarships because she didn’t want to take loans when she went to college.
Currently, Harris attends Full Sail University. She is studying computer animation. When she graduates, she wants to work for a company in California that does the computer-generated imaging for blockbuster movies. She enjoys art and technology. She uses both to her advantage. At Christian Marketing Experts, we use technology and print to help our clients succeed. We also believe in a balanced marketing plan and will design our package to fit the needs of the client, but we will include video, pictures, art, print, digital and broadcast avenues for our clients.
“I am surprised I won this scholarship. I expected other students to be more deserving,” Harris said upon hearing about it. “I am blessed.”
Although CME had a number of entries that were high-quality work, we could choose only one winner. However, those essays that spoke to us, we posted as articles on our LinkedIn page. For the 2020 scholarship, we are limiting the entries to those students who plan to study marketing, journalism or business. Also, the topics for the essays could still be chosen by the student but should relate to Christianity, church or business in some way.
