Tips for Christian Audience

Use Your Christian Brand to Change Lives of Customers

Many small business owners are Christians, but they don’t advertise their faith. They go about their business and do what they have to do. However, if you market your Christianity and create a Christian brand in your niche, you will spread God’s message. You also could increase customers. You definitely would change the lives of your customers. When you make a difference instead of making money by any means necessary, you do good work.

In his book, You’ve Got to Be Hungry, Les Brown, a famous motivational speaker, talks a lot about making a difference. He will tell you that changing lives leads to more fame, more money, and more respect for what Jesus wants of you. “People were created on purpose with a purpose for a purpose, Brown says in his book.” Brown also tells people that when their work is heart-centered and answers God’s calling, desires are poured forth.

So, how can you change lives through your Christian brand? Here are some ways.

  1. Donate Portion of Sales

  2. Whatever you sell, consider donating a portion of those sales to your favorite charity. You could help people directly with your donations or you could pick a charity that helps people indirectly. For example, giving money to the local homeless shelter will change lives directly. Giving money to an organization that feeds the hungry worldwide would be something more indirect. Either way, you are bound to change lives. If your passion is cancer research, it would be an indirect way to change people who are suffering from cancer.
  3. Donate Time

  4. Many business owners will pay their employees to help others. For example, a company requires employees to donate time once a month for Meals on Wheels, an organization that gives food to homebound elderly or other homebound people. The employees do not lose their salary to do this Meals on Wheels work. They don’t have to use vacation or sick time to give back. They are paid as if they were in the office. They are told to use company vehicles for this service. The only requirement is for employees to show up and donate their time.
  5. Be Part of Community

Most communities have churches. Small business owners can show their Christian faith through being a part of a local church. Sponsor events at the church. Help with their ministries, both as an individual and as a business owner. Through these sponsorships and ministries, you will change people’s lives who are part of your church community. You can offer other services, such as in-kind donations. However, sponsoring events to give you exposure, brand awareness, and a form of in-person marketing without being loud in people’s faces about what you do.

    Attach Your Name

If you want to change people’s lives, attach your name to organizations already doing what you want to do. For example, if you join an organization that is helping people who are suffering due to the coronavirus disease, you will be attaching yours and your company name to that organization. You will be saying that you approve of what they are doing. You will make a difference in their lives. You could change the world, your neighborhood, or your company culture.

Therefore, it is important that first, you establish yourself as a Christian brand. Second, find a way to make a difference. Third, reap rewards on Earth and in heaven.
