I was thinking deeply on courage, and its life-changing attribute of truthful and successful Christians, I found that there is a biblical pattern of going after big missions. Keeping visions and maps to know your destination is one aspect of success but courage is another. If you do not have the courage to take the right step toward your destination, you will never reach it, where you want to be. Courage does not come from outside your heart, or it does it belong to your mindset. The Bible says “The wicked flee when no one is pursuing, but the righteous are bold as a lion.” Proverbs 28:1 Let’s look at some more reference of courage from REAL biblical heroes.

Jesus Dies on the Cross and Sacrifices for Every Sinner on Earth

Without a doubt, Jesus stands as the first role model of courage.  Nobody ever tested his courage more than Jesus did. it was not His will or happiness but that of the Heavenly Father. However, His experience was the same as ours. St. Paul said, “Someone can hardly die for a friend or loved one but Jesus sacrificed for His enemies. Courage to do good for an enemy is real courage.” Lord Jesus taught with His actions by going to cross for all sinners on Earth.

King Solomon Asks for Wisdom.

King Solomon learned a lot from his father King David. That is why he knows to ask for wisdom from God when God came into his dream. Asking for the right gift or attribute requires you to be bold and truthful if you are wrong or bad, you can not desire good things. King Solomon’s desire for wisdom was not for his own benefit but for the nation’s well-being. Despite a mistake, we found King Solomon did amazing work with God’s wisdom, and the Lord was really happy with him.

Abraham Takes his Son for a Sacrifice for God

Abraham proved with his life that he has true courage of the Holy Spirit when he took his son Issac for a sacrificing for God. We all know the story of how many years he waited to get a single child from Sarah. Then God tested his faith again by asking him to give that son to God. I always feel empowered when I think Abraham’s love for God. Seriously, he deserves to be called the Friend of God. Courage is the sign that you are full of the Holy Spirit. 

Apostle Paul Gets Revelation from God

Without suffering, true Christians can not know God to the highest level — the level God our Heavenly Father wants us to know him. Apostle Paul is an amazing Man of God. God revealed new revelations upon him. Despite the suffering he faced, he never stopped his ministry and keep learning from God. Although I consider Paul to be one of my favorite Apostles in the Bible, I love John and Peter too. Paul has shown us and changed the meaning of suffering. Joy is hidden the more we suffer. The more you suffer, the more you learn and become a favorite among people and God. 

Mary Becomes Jesus’ Mother

Think about a virgin girl who is so faithful and loyal to her God. Despite her faith and loyalty, one more test came to Mary. She had to choose whether to give birth to the Son of God, Jesus Christ. She didn’t second guess God and her faith. She was courageous to talk with angel and ask questions about the Birth of Jesus. The angel told her how she will give birth without a man through the Holy Spirit. She accepted. 

Joshua Fights With Enemies

Joshua is a true man of God. I get empowered every time I realize that the God of Joshua is my God too! The Lord of lords and the King of kings fight with your enemies. The Lord has shown him the way he needs to go to fight with enemies. He did wonderful work for Israel and for true Israel (for us) who believe in Jesus!

King David Does Not Go Against King Saul

There so many other Bible heroes I can not mention their names in a single book. So we can name a few according to the situation and when we need to see how they reacted in a particular situation. King David was so humble and a loving person. He loved King Saul because he was anointed by God.

David knows that everything anointed by God belongs to God and must serve the Lord! David never tries to kill or even hurt King Saul except for the one moment when King Saul was in a cave and alone and King David had the option to kill him because Saul was doing everything to kill David. However, David did not take advantage of that one chance and cut a small piece of his mantle. Still, he feels sorry about cutting a piece of cloth. It is courageous to be true and loyal to God’s commandments. David never did anything to hurt Saul.
